Leach Botanical Garden offers a serene escape for groups seeking an enriching outdoor experience. Nestled in southeast Portland, our garden is the perfect destination for garden club outings, community group field trips, or educational visits.

What We Offer

  • Guided Tours: Choose a staff-led tour with our knowledgeable horticulture team or a docent-led tour for a deep dive into the garden’s history, ecology, and unique plant collections. Tours are tailored to your group’s interests.
  • Self-Guided Options: Explore the garden at your own pace with maps and suggested highlights to make the most of your visit.‍
  • Accessibility: Enjoy pathways and areas designed for guests of varying mobility levels.

Guided Tour Options:

  • Staff-Led Tour
    Explore the garden’s rich history and diverse horticultural collections with a knowledgeable staff member for $15 per person.
  • Volunteer-Led Tour
    Connect with nature on a personal level with a volunteer-led tour for $8 per person. 
  • Group Payment Discounts: Take advantage of our pre-pay discount and save 20% when paying in advance or as a group upon arrival for staff led tours ($12 per person) or $1 off for volunteer led tours ($7 per person).

Booking Details

  • Group Size: Guided tours accommodate 10-12 participants per tour. Larger groups can book multiple tours.
  • Duration: Tours typically last 60–90 minutes.
  • Availability: Year-round, weather permitting. Advance scheduling is required.‍
  • Fees include admission: $15 per person for staff guided tours, $8 for docent-led tours with discounted rates available for school groups and nonprofit organizations.

Enhance Your Visit

  • After your tour, enjoy light snacks at our bistro seating in the garden’s entry plaza. Please note: Pack it in, pack it out—we ask all guests to take their trash with them.
  • Visit our gift shop for locally crafted items and garden-inspired gifts.

Picnicking

Include a Pack-it-in, Pack-it-out Picnic with your tour! We offer seasonal use of the Far Meadow Tent or the Covered Arbor for picnics that accompany tours. Chairs and tables are included. Please note: Stand-alone picnics are not available due to our limited facilities.
