Canceled – Leach Botanical Garden Summer Camp – ages 8—10

Calling all wild creatures! HOOT LIKE AN OWL,

April 16 COVID-19 update – This camp has been canceled and registrants will be contacted by our Administrative Assistant as soon as possible. Please bear with us as staffing is limited. Thank for your support during this unprecedented time.

Jump like a frog, run like a deer, and see like a bat as you explore the world of animals in this immersive outdoor theatre camp. Students will build their performance skills as they create original songs, scenes and poetry inspired by Pacific Northwest wildlife.

  • – Be a different animal each day
  • – Create costumes for our favorite animals
  • – Create a performance piece from scratch
  • – Explore Leach Garden as you learn and play
  • – Build connection with and appreciation for the natural landscape
  • – Build performance skills: projection, clarity, creating a character, teamwork

As a teaching artist, Joellen is passionate about developing students’ unique voices and building their confidence. She has taught for Northwest Children’s Theatre, Portland Center Stage and Young Musicians & Artists Camp. Visit to learn about Bedrock Theatre’s unique approach.
