Thursday June 15, 9:00am-noon (Also July 27 & August 17, 9:00am-noon)
Cost: Preregistration required: $35 nonmember / $30 LGF member for each class
Description: Adult class suitable for all skill levels. We will use the Garden as an inspiration for landscape watercolor painting. Plein Air means “out of doors”. We will paint as the impressionists did, using natural settings and the changing light as our subjects. Class takes place in the meadow tent.
Instructor: Jane Nash received a BFA from Stratford College in Danville, Va. and attended graduate school in fine art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has consistently worked in the field of art her entire life, both teaching and painting. She is an art teacher and loves teaching both adults and children. She's taught for many years and has developed a way of teaching that promotes self-expression and freedom rather than a “correct” way to paint and draw. She is a partner in Fun with Tom and Jane, a business which goes into Assisted Living Facilities and provides arts and crafts projects for seniors. She teaches at Leach Botanical Garden, which gives artists of all ages an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Garden and the experience of being creative within it.
