Description: Express yourself through Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art form with flowers and other materials taught by Nana Goto Bellerud, Japanese native, President of Ikebana International Portland Chapter. This class includes a brief history and concept of Ikebana, basic techniques, and how to prepare and treat plant materials. You’ll take home a beautiful arrangement or two. Class is suitable for all skill levels.
Note: Plant materials provided (cost included) but other supplies NOT included - please bring the following supplies to class:
A pair of Ikebana shears or a pair of garden clippers
2 containers for arrangement, one flat, one tall, made of ceramic, glass, metal, or heavy plastic, etc. (sizes: salad plate or soup bowl size with edges to contain water, frog and arrangement)
Kenzan (or frogs) if you have some
Bag(s) or box(es) to carry home your arrangement(s)
